Arthur Ardavichus wins 6th stage of FIA World Championship
Astana Motorsports team leader Arthur Ardavichus won the sixth stage of the FIA World Championship in truck category. Baja Aragón 2014 was held in Spain on July 18-20. Ardavichus became the undisputed champion in its category - all three days of racing his crew came first.
Kazakhstan in Baja Aragon 2014 was presented by three crews-two cars and one truck.
Pilot Aidyn Rakhimbaev and navigator Anton Nikolaev on MINI All4 showed good pace in the top twenty but fell out of the race due to technical problems. Pilot Bauyrzhan Issabaev and navigator Vladimir Demyanenko on Toyota Hilux were very close to the top 10 and took 12th place in the overall standings.
In T4 category bronze winner of Dakar-2012 Arthur Ardavichus piloted with co-driver Aleksey Nikizhev and engineer Philip Skrobanek.
«For the first time in the history of «Baja Aragon Spain» Kazakhstan won the race. The victory was not easy for us. Despite the short duration of the Baja, we felt driving through a mini «Dakar» as route and racing conditions were difficult. Nevertheless, we are very pleased to represent our country and to win! Kazakhstan, go ahead!» representative of Astana Presidential professional sports club Arthur Ardavichus expressed his opinion.
