The long-term strategy of Samruk-Kazyna JSC assumes investments in developing the new prospective industries and start-ups apart from the existing companies of the Group. In this regard, the Fund established a new cluster for developing new industries within the scope of the Samruk-Kazyna JSC transformation.
Fund’s new vision is directed towards growth of its new investments portfolio as well as identification of new opportunities that are strategic to the nation, in terms of building country’s long-term competitiveness in the global markets. The New Portfolio Investments, as they are called, are in effect will have dual catalytic and financial mandate and will drive the structural transformation of the national economy.

These are the Fund's currently underway projects. From 2016 to 2020, the Fund will attract 352 billion tenge of its own funds to investment projects of growing portfolio companies.
Priority sectors for new projects of the Fund are chemical and mining industries, clean energy as well as advanced technologies.
The main goal of the team for developing new and existing companies is to ensure growth of the Fund’s portfolio companies, diversify the portfolio and create new companies that will lead sectors of Kazakhstan’s economy in the future.

The Fund in line with its portfolio companies is actively engaged in attracting foreign direct investment into the country through mutually beneficial investment structures. In particular, there are four distinct areas of potential partnerships that are promoted on the Fund level:
Partnerships with existing mature portfolio companies in their core businesses
Strategic partnerships for new joint investments into emerging sectors for the Fund including, but not limited to Agribusiness, Industrial Technology, and Infrastructure
Partnerships with growing portfolio companies with special emphasis on Chemical and Mining segments
Co-investment partnerships to support both local and foreign investors looking for reputable partner in Kazakhstan
