The Board of Directors of “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC (the “Fund”) has adopted a new Samruk-Kazyna Code of Conduct, which will replace the previous Code of Business Ethics. The Code of Conduct is a more comprehensive guide, which, in addition to ethical standards, incorporates standards of conduct and the obligations of the Fund's employees, a FAQ section and further explanatory statements. The document is risk-oriented and was developed on the basis of internal assessment of compliance risks and in line with OECD anti-bribery and corruption guidelines.

Furthermore, the Samruk-Kazyna Board of Directors adopted a new whistleblowing policy in line with the OECD anti-bribery and corruption guidelines. The new policy refers to the new Code of Conduct and requires reporting any non-compliance with the Code of Conduct and anti-bribery and corruption laws and regulations. This policy provides a clear process of reporting any misconduct on an anonymous basis, and applies not only to employees but also to all associated parties. The policy provides non-retaliation clause and guarantees protection of rights and interests of persons raising concerns.

Gani Bitenov, Managing Director for Legal Support and Risks, Member of the Management Board of Samruk-Kazyna, commented: "The Fund has always demonstrated a proactive approach to its whistleblowing policy. However, the time has come to update it. The new document provides an even more reliable and comprehensive system for whistleblowing, improving individuals' security and enabling the thorough investigation of any violations or misconduct."

The Board of Directors also approved the appointment of Nurlan Yerimbetov as the Fund’s new Ombudsman, and adopted the Regulations on the Fund’s Ombudsman and organisations within the Fund’s group.
