The First President of Kazakhstan chaired the Council meeting for the Fund Governance of Samruk-Kazyna

During the meeting, Samruk-Kazyna CEO Almassadam Satkaliyev was heard about the results of the Fund’s activities for nine months of the current year, its main strategic goals, and critical development priorities. 

The meeting approved the presented Development Strategy of Samruk-Kazyna for 2022-2031, which envisages an increase of investments to realize infrastructure, export-oriented and import-substituting projects in the real sector of the economy of Kazakhstan. The participants also took note of the conceptual approaches of Samruk-Kazyna on the transition to low carbon development. 

They noted the need to maintain a reasonable balance between energy and environmental security. Nursultan Nazarbayev supported the proposed goals of Samruk-Kazyna to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. In addition, Elbasy stressed the importance of increasing the sustainability of energy supply chains, developing local content, diversifying the economy, including creating modern production facilities to feed the domestic market with domestic goods, and increasing the share of exports. 

The cooperation of Samruk-Kazyna with leading foreign sovereign wealth funds received further attention. In this context, Elbasy stressed the high dynamism of developing relations with the United Arab Emirates, pointing to their unique experience and investment opportunities, which are essential for the Kazakh economy in its modernization. Joint efforts within the framework of international cooperation will accelerate the planned transformations of Samruk-Kazyna, contributing to the adequate diversification of the economy.

 Thus, the key objective of the Fund is to realize the goals reflected in the new Development Strategy, said the First President of Kazakhstan. The session also heard reports from the management of KazMunayGaz, Kazatomprom, and Kazakhtelecom on the current situation and development forecasts for the coming years.
