First phase of SEZ “Chemical park Taraz” facilities 70% ready

The construction of the first phase of infrastructure facilities of SEZ » Chemical Park Taraz» is 70 % completed. This became known during the working trip of the CEO of “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC Umirzak Shukeyev.

The project SEZ “Chemical park Taraz” is implemented by “Unified chemical company” LLP. It is planned to create large and medium-duty truck manufacture of chemical production on the territory of the park such as methanol, ammonia (as well as derivative from them-complex nitrogen fertilizers, additives for oil and resins for wood processing industry), caustic soda, chemicals for different sectors of industry, glyphosate, herbicide.

Currently, construction of integrated complex for production of glyphosate and phosphorus chloride has been started on the territory of SEZ. This project is aimed at import substitution and should provide necessary chemicals to agriculture sector of the country to increase productivity.

Construction of infrastructure facilities of the park will be implemented in two phases. Commissioning of the first is scheduled for the 4th quarter of 2016, the second - the 4th quarter of 2018. During the construction period it is planned to create about 2,000 jobs, about 1,200 jobs - during the operation.

Another key object in the region - solar power station «Burnoe» with capacity of 50 MW, located in an area of ​​150 hectares in Zhualynskiy area, Nurlykentskiy rural district of Zhambyl region. Since its start-up the power station has developed 58,718 mln  kWh of electricity which is above the targets by 10%. The official commissioning of the solar power plant was carried out with the participation of the President on July 2, 2015 during the Industrialization Day. The construction was carried out by «Samruk-Kazyna Invest» LLP and the British company UG Energy Limited through a joint venture LLP “Burnoe Solar - 1». The project annual electricity output is 73,18 mln kWh. The station allows significantly reduce the electricity deficit in the region.

«Burnoe» station has become a successful example of creating “green” economy objects in Kazakhstan, enshrined in the framework of the international exhibition EXPO-2017. We plan to expand the plant to 100 MW. High-voltage substation capacity of 220 kilovolts is ready and capital costs for additional 50 MW are not required,» the head of «Samruk-Kazyna Invest» LLP Kairat Nayzabekov said.

Management of «Samruk-Kazyna» Fund familiarized with the laying of tracks on the section Almaty-1-Shu. The project is implemented under the state program «Nurly Zhol». On April 7, the ceremony was held here to lay the first link of the track panels made of domestic rail - first production of «Aktobe rail and structural steel mill» LLP.
