I International IT-forum is taking place in Astana with the support of «Samruk-Kazyna» JSC. The event is intended to become a professional platform for sharing experience and exploring best practices of information technology. The theme of the forum is «The role of IT in the transformation of the organization.»

«The aim of the forum related to the transformation program of «Samruk-Kazyna” JSC. During the forum, we will discuss the following questions: What should be the IT-specialist that technology would bring benefits to the company? How to build IT-architecture in the company, taking into account the business needs? What is corporate governance in IT? We have invited leading international and Kazakh experts in these areas to answer these questuins, » the head of IT department of «Samruk-Kazyna» JSC David Tuganov said.

He noted that the focus will be on leadership qualities of IT-manager. «If he can not properly explain the need for change in IT, especially in communication with top management, unfortunately, a technological breakthrough in the company will not take place. Therefore, a separate area, which we consider on the forum is the leadership under the slogan «transform yourself to transform the company!» he said.

In turn, Chief Information Officer of «Samruk-Kazyna» Nicholas Malone spoke about the role of IT in the currently implemented business transformation programs of the Fund. «The development of IT is an important part of the transformation of the Fund, as it will significantly increase the operational efficiency of our operations, increase the competitiveness of our business. I would also like to note the role of automation in the consolidation of information flows across the Fund’s group of companies, as a result it will enhance transparency and accountability in all our companies. It should be remembered that in the context of limited human and financial resources it is necessary to clearly assess the final efficiency of each investment injected in our projects,” he said.

More than 200 experts in the field of IT attended the forum. In particular, Research director at Gartner Mary Mesaglio, Founder and Managing Director of TerraLink Technologies Ron Lewin, founder and director of Jumpstone International eU Matthew Guiver shared their opinion at the event.

The representatives of SAP, SoftwareAG, 1C and IntargetSolutions told about the experience of their clients.

The forum also covered the exhibition of the leading companies in the field of innovation, digital technologies, software and award winners of the «Best business project involving IT». Participants of the contest were awarded with prizes, and the winner won a trip to the Gartner Symposium / ITxpo, which will be held on November 8-12, 2015 in Barcelona.
