On April 9-10, the working group of «Samruk-Kazyna» chaired by the head of the Fund Umirzak Shukeyev visited Silicon Valley venture (California, USA).

The working group acquainted with the work of Stanford University, UC Berkeley, as well as such well-known innovative companies like Tesla Motors, SolarCity and other start-up companies. The sides have discussed the possibility of cooperation in the development of clean energy, gas chemistry, transport, medicine, agriculture, education, and IT. In particular, they considered the possibility of creation of «Samruk Innovation» company in Silicon Valley.

During the working visit the delegation presented information on the upcoming international specialized exhibition «Astana EXPO-2017», Green Quarter project, and «Kaz PV» project for the production of solar panels.

Representatives of Stanford, SolarCity and Motors were invited to Kazakhstan to participate in Astana Economic Forum in May this year and discuss joint projects in preparation for the EXPO-2017.

The proposal was warmly welcomed by business and academia in Silicon Valley. At a meeting with a member of the SolarCity Board of Directors and CEO of Motors Elon Musk several options for cooperation were developed.
