Astana mayor's office and Samruk-Kazyna sign Memorandum on Cooperation in field of professional sports development

Today, mayor's office of the capital hosted a signing ceremony of the Memorandum on Cooperation in the Field of Professional Sports Development between Astana mayor's office and Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund Joint-Stock Company.

The Memorandum, which was signed by Astana mayor, Adilbek Dzhaksybekov, and the Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, Umirzak Shukeyev, defines the priority areas of joint work, in particular, in development of Astana Presidential Professional Sports Club, established with the support of the Head of State in December 2012.

- Our common goal is executing instructions of the President in promotion of healthy lifestyles, development of physical training and professional sports. Jointly with mayor's office and Astana Sports Club  we must increase the number of people systematically engaged in physical culture, expand the network of sports facilities, health leisure infrastructure in the capital. City administration is always ready to cooperate with the club on the main directions in promotion and development of physical culture and sports, Mayor told.

According to Umirzak Shukeyev, joint measures of support from Samruk-Kazyna and Astana administration within development of professional and mass sports should bring its results in the form of brilliant victories of Kazakhstani sportsmen in the upcoming international competitions.

Today, Astana PPSC brings together the best Kazakhstani sports clubs  professional world-class cycling team, basketball and football clubs, Barys hockey club, Astana motorsports team, Astana Arlans boxers, polo and water polo teams, a unique project on development of Kazakhstan Barysy national wrestling. Astana Professional Club is also presented by twice Olympic champion and four-time world champion in weightlifting, Ilya Ilyin, Olympic bronze medalist, four continents champion 2015 in figure skating, Denis Ten.
