In the capital of Kazakhstan, the summer internship «Digital Summer 2021» was launched in the companies of the «Samruk-Kazyna» group.

This year, the organizers received more than 5,800 applications for participation from undergraduate and graduate students, which is 2.5 times more than last year. Based on the results of the four-stage selection process, 53 candidates were invited to participate in the program.

In 2021, the list of specialties was expanded and not only IT specialists, but also students of the following areas took part in the competitive selection of the program: HR, Process engineers, Mechanical engineers, Economists, Financiers, Journalists and marketers.

During a press briefing dedicated to the launch of the project, ErlanDurmagambetov, Managing Director for Strategy, Sustainability and Digital Transformation of «Samruk-Kazyna» JSC, noted:

«The goals of the program remained unchanged – the development of talented youth through mentoring and real experience in digital transformation projects of leading companies in Kazakhstan within the framework of paid internships».

In total, 9 companies of the Fund's group participate in the «Digital Summer 2021» program: «NC «KazMunayGas», «NC «Kazakhstan TemirZholy» JSC, «Kazpost» JSC, «Samruk-Energy» JSC, «Kazakhtelecom» JSC, «KEGOC» JSC, «Air Astana» JSC, «NAC«Kazatomprom» JSC, LLP «QazCloud».

The project operator from the Fund is the Corporate University «Samruk-Kazyna».

«Each stream of the «Digital Summer» program is, first of all, the success stories of the interns», - said AkmaralKadyrbayeva, Director of the University. She shared the career achievements of the graduates of 2019 and 2020: YerzhanYessenov from «KEGOC» JSC and Sabina Baizhanfrom «QazCloud», who, after a summer internship, not only received an invitation to work, but also moved up the career ladder.

The graduate of 2020, Tahmina Marat, thanked the mentors of the project, who teach the interns:

«We couldn't have done it without our mentors. They supported us throughout the internship. They helped to adapt to the team, delve into work processes, created the most comfortable conditions for the implementation of projects and solving problems».

The organizers noted that the «Digital Summer» internship program provides an opportunity for each participant to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of real events and gain valuable experience: to solve the problems facing the business, develop communication skills, networking with other participants, take training and offer solutions for current cases of companies within the framework of the Hackathon.
