In the period from June 2 to 4, 2021, the management of "Samruk-Kazyna" JSC and the Fund's portfolio companies took part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. 

As a result of the visit, mutually beneficial agreements and contracts were signed, creating a basis for investment and implementation of joint projects in Kazakhstan.    

On the sidelines of the Russian forum, productive meetings were held with the leaders of federal agencies, various foreign and Russian companies and business structures.

Chairman of the Board of the "Samruk-Kazyna" JSC Almassadam Satkaliyev held a meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Aleksei Pesoshin, where the parties noted the positive dynamics of cooperation and the development of partnership relations between NC "KazMunayGas" and "Tatneft" PJSC in the oil and gas field.

A trilateral agreement was signed between "Samruk-Kazyna", RUSNANO and Group of companies "Sintez OKA" on the main terms of cooperation for the creation of an investment platform in the field of small - and medium-tonnage oil and gas chemistry.

The agreement with "SIBUR Holding" PJSC creates conditions for the implementation of the project for "Construction of an integrated gas chemical complex in the Atyrau Region". 

At a meeting with Jay R. Pryor, Vice president of Business Development for Chevron Corporation, the parties discussed the implementation of major international oil and gas projects in Kazakhstan.

As a result of negotiations with the President of "LUKOIL" PJSC, Vagit Alekperov, a sales and purchase agreement was signed with NC "KazMunayGas" for the 49.9% of stake of "Al-Farabi" LLP, which will ensure the entry of a strategic partner into the project.

Within the framework of the Forum, the heads of the postal services of Kazakhstan and Russia agreed on cooperation in the field of transit logistics solutions related to the movement and storage of international mail, which will have a positive impact on the development of cross-border e-commerce.

"Samruk-Kazyna" Fund effectively used the forum platform to expand partnership relations. The issues of stable operation of the Ekibastuz coal deposits became the topic of the meeting with representatives of the UC "Rusal". Promising areas for joint work with Finnish companies were discussed during negotiations with the Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade of Finland, Ville Skinnari. 

In addition, the Kazakh side discussed with the Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Investment Authority “QIA”, Mansoor bin Ebrahim Al-Mahmoud, the possibilities of participation in cooperative infrastructure, logistics projects, the development of renewable energy sources, and the asset privatization program.
