Today, Almassadam Satkaliyev, the CEO of the Samruk-Kazyna Fund, has met with Mr. Julien Pouget, Senior Vice President for the Asia-Pacific Region of TotalEnergies Exploration and Production, and other executives of the French company.  

The parties have discussed issues of further development of cooperation in the field of electricity. In particular, the case touched the construction of a 1 GW wind farm near the Balkhash Lake. Today, Samruk-Kazyna JSC, JSC NC KazMunayGas, the Ministry of Energy and Total Eren have signed an Agreement on the principles of this project at the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The construction of a wind farm using an electricity storage system will attract about USD1.6 billion to the national economy. 

Almassadam Satkaliyev has noted the fact that Total Energies is a long-standing partner in the North Caspian project, and the Fund is ready to provide comprehensive support in promoting further mutually beneficial cooperation.
