Samruk-Kazyna expands cooperation with the Great Britain

Today, the management of Samruk-Kazyna met with the Trade Envoy of the British Prime Minister for Kazakhstan, Baroness Emma Nicholson.
The meeting was also attended by British Ambassador to Kazakhstan Kathy Leach and Country Director for Trade and Investment Beth McKendrick.
Baroness Nicholson and the Head of the Fund, as co-chairs of the Kazakh-British Business Council, outlined a plan for joint work in the near future.
The British side expressed interest in further development of cooperation. Taking into account the international significance of the climate agenda, the Fund proposed partnership and joint investments in the sustainable development of the energy industry. As an example, the Loan Agreement with the EBRD for the project "Modernization of Almaty CHPP-2 with minimization of environmental impact" is given.
The issues of preparation for the IPO of Air Astana, the second shareholder of which is the British BAE Systems, were also discussed.

From 1999 to 2009 she was a member of the European Parliament. Trade Envoy of the Prime Minister of Great Britain for Kazakhstan since 2017, Co-Chair of the Kazakh-British Business Council.
