Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov introduced to the staff of National Welfare Fund Samruk Kazyna JSC the new Chairman of the Board Nurlan Zhakupov.

The Head of Government emphasized that the fund has major tasks to attract investment, development of the energy sector, infrastructure, transport and logistics and industrial development of the country.

In addition, the fund must actively support and create a favorable environment for domestic producers, which will allow the national economy to strengthen on the path of sustainable development.

"Priority areas of work and KPI of each subsidiary company and the holding as a whole are defined, tasks for the future are clear. The fund is a very important element in our state, managing large assets. A lot depends on effective work of the fund, especially the major projects that affect the entire economy and the further progressive development of our country," Smailov said and wished Nurlan Zhakupov and all employees of the fund success in their work.

Prime Minister also thanked Almassadam Satkaliyev, who headed the fund for the past two years, for his contribution to the development of Kazakhstan's economy.
