As part of the official visit of Emmanuel Macron, President of France, to Kazakhstan, a joint venture agreement has been signed with Total Eren for the construction of wind power stations in Kazakhstan with a total capacity of 1 GW. Participants of the Kazakhstani side are Samruk-Kazyna JSC and JSC NC KazMunayGas.
The project is supposed to be implemented in 2 stages, namely, to introduce 300 MW of capacity in the first stage, and after the remaining 700 MW. A power storage system will be installed at the wind power station, which will reduce the risk of network instability due to intermittent wind generation.
For information:
Total Eren is a French company, one of leaders in the field of renewable energy in the world. The company portfolio includes more than 2,400 MW of installed capacity, as well as more than 2,000 MW of capacity under development.
