The Head of Samruk-Kazyna JSC to Have Met with the CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group

Nurlan Zhakupov, the Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, held a meeting with Mr. Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, the CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group (ADPG).

The parties discussed the current status of the projects implementation with the Fund’s Portfolio Companies.

A joint venture has been established within the framework of the strategic partnership between KazMunayGas JSC and ADPG in the field of marine and coastal cargo transportation, development of tanker and merchant fleet in the Caspian region. 2 oil tankers operate successfully on the Aktau-Makhachkala route, in the future it is planned to transport oil in the Aktau-Baku direction.

The work on creation of a joint pool of tankers in the high seas is in progress. Today, the pool consists of 4 Aframax tankers.

The possibility of creating ship repair and shipbuilding facilities in Kazakhstan is also under consideration.

Issues on creation of a joint venture are being worked out with JSC NC KazakhstanTemirZholy. The corresponding agreement was signed in December 2023 at the World Climate Summit COP28.

The organization of cargo transportation along alternative routes, investments in the construction of terminals, the introduction of digital solutions, joint operation of marine vessels have been identified as the key areas of the joint activity.
