Charity Samruk Marathon 2024: Kazakhstanis raised KZT125 million for special children

On June 1, a charity marathon of the Samruk-Kazyna JSC Group of Companies “Charity SamrukMarathon 2024” was held in the Triathlon Park of Astana. All funds raised will be used to implement social projects, including projects for children with special needs.
About 1,200 runners took part in the race, most of whom were employees of the Samruk–Kazyna JSC Group of Companies.
The races were held at the distance of 5 km (amateurs) and 10 km (professionals).
In addition, more than 200 children over the age of 6 took part in the 400 meters and 1 km race.
At the start of the marathon, the Fund’s management welcomed the participants and wished them successful completion of the distance.
“In just a month, we managed to collect more than KZT125 million, which will be used to organize inclusive classrooms in schools and kindergartens in Astana. And the fundraising continues.
Today, on June 1, the Children’s Day, we also focus on the importance of running with great meaning –supporting children. I am glad that today our marathon unites conscious Kazakhstanis who are thinking about the future generation”, - Nurlan Zhakupov, the Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, said.
Every year, more than half a million citizens receive assistance from the Samruk-Kazyna Group of Companies, about 97 thousand of them are children and their mothers.
Their family members also came to support the athletes at the marathon, in total, the sports event brought together more than 2 thousand people.
It should be noted that during the month before the marathon, its participants prepared for the race every Saturday with an experienced coach.
Thanks to the indifference of Kazakhstanis, the little wards of the Fund got a chance for a better future, for a healthy and happy life.
