He got acquainted with the working conditions of the employees and congratulated them on the 125^th anniversary of oil and gas industry in Kazakhstan

Mr. Nurlan Zhakupov noted that Karachaganak project is one of the key economic pillars of the country. It provides a significant share of oil and gas production and makes a significant contribution to the development of the national economy.

The project also provides jobs, infrastructure development and improvement of life in the region.

On September 6, the fifth gas reinjection into the reservoir compressor (to maintain reservoir pressure and enhance oil recovery) is scheduled to be commissioned at KPO and is now in test mode.

It is planned that the launch of compressors 5 and 6 will allow to maintain stable oil and gas production capacity at the rate of 10-11 million tons per year, which is extremely important for Kazakhstan’s energy security and sustainable economic growth.

Karachaganak field is one of the largest in the world, its reserves are estimated at more than 1.7 billion tons of oil and more than 1.7 trillion cubic meters of gas.
