Samruk-Kazyna and Societe Generale to Sign the Partnership Agreement in France

The Heads of Samruk-Kazyna SWF and the financial conglomerate Societe Generale signed the Partnership Agreement on Strategic Cooperation during the official visit of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Kazakhstan, to France on November 4-5.

Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and Alstom Transport also signed the Agreement on Strategic Cooperation on 6-Axle Electric Locomotives

On November 05, in the presence of Heads of State - Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Emmanuel Macron, in total, five documents were signed, including agreements of Samruk-Kazyna JSC and JSC NC KTZh.

A day earlier, Nurlan Zhakupov, the Chairman of the Management Board held meetings with the top management of French companies

The Head of Samruk-Kazyna with the leader of the French nuclear industry, Orano S. A., discussed the status of current projects. The French company cooperates with Kazatomprom on issues of joint uranium mining and processing, as well as in scientific and technical activities.

Nurlan Zhakupov also held a meeting with Ilya Polyakov, the top manager of the French Conglomerate Societe Generale. The parties discussed issues of cooperation.

Saltanat Satzhan, the Managing Director of Samruk-Kazyna for Development and Privatization, shared the advantages of cooperation with Samruk-Kazyna under the Kazakh-French Business Council.

Samruk-Kazyna is a partner of such large French companies as Total Energies, Orano S.A., Societe Generale, EDF.

In addition, five documents were signed at the Kazakh-French Business Council of Samruk-Kazyna, namely:

• KTZh and Societe Generale. The Term Sheet for financing the purchase of Alstom electric locomotives.

• KTZh - Freight Transportation and EKZ LLP with Alstom. The additional agreement under which Alstom will supply 117 locomotives to Kazakhstan by 2028.

• KEGOC and ASSYSTEM. Cooperation and assistance in improving the sustainability and efficiency of the national electric grid of Kazakhstan.

• KazMunayGas and Axens. Exploring opportunities for implementation of SAF production projects in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

• Kazatomprom and Orano S.A. Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in the field of education between Kazatomprom and Orano S.A.
