Samruk-Kazyna to Finance the Construction of a School in Turkey, which was Affected by the Earthquake

On December 19, the grand opening of the construction of a school in the city of Nurdagi in Gaziantep province took place. The project was financed by the Samruk-Kazyna Fund.
Nurdagi is the city most affected by the earthquake on February 6, 2023. Kazakhstani specialists carried out rescue operations in this city.
In accordance with the instruction of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 13, 2024, the Fund and KazAID signed an agreement on financing the construction of a school in the territory of the Turkish Republic affected by the earthquake.
According to the Decree, KazAID is the customer, Integra Construction KZ LLP is the general contractor, Samruk-Kazyna Construction JSC is an engineering supervision company.
The region most affected by the earthquake of 2023 has been chosen as the site of the school’s construction.
On December 19, the grand opening of the construction site took place with participation of Yerkebulan Sapiyev, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Turkey, Kemal Cheber, Governor of Gaziantep Province, regional representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Turkey, representatives of KazAID and Integra Construction KZ LLP.
Currently, excavation work has been completed, and mobilization is underway.
To recap, on February 6, 2023, two earthquakes with a magnitude of more than 7 occurred in Turkey, which affected 11 provinces and neighboring Syria. More than 50 thousand people died. About 11,000 specialists from 88 countries, including Kazakhstan, participated in the rescue efforts.
Then President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan to provide assistance to Turkey for $1 million. Caring Kazakhstanis also actively provided support to the victims of the earthquake.
