The parties discussed issues of cooperation. French Alstom opened a locomotive manufacturing plant in Kazakhstan in 2012 under the industrialization program.

Electrovoz Kurasty Zauyty has produced and provides servicing for 380 freight and 70 passenger electric locomotives and their components for Kazakhstan Temir Zholy.

Thanks to the Samruk-Kazyna procurement system, KTZ has the opportunity to conclude long-term offtake contracts with the plant, thus EKZ has a guaranteed sales volume. As a result, the share of the EKZ localization has increased from about 10% at the start of the project to 35%. 

On January 6, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev visited the plant.
