Occupational Safety in the Samruk-Kazyna Group: Key Results and Plans

A final meeting on the occupational safety issues of the Samruk-Kazyna JSC group of companies was held in Astana, which summed up the results of work for the past year and identified priority areas for further improvement of the Occupational Safety Management System.

The meeting was attended by the management of the Fund and Heads of Portfolio Companies of the Group.

“The Samruk-Kazyna group of companies has 255.5 thousand employees, of which 237.8 thousand people are involved in production activities. Occupational safety at an enterprise is not only essential in ensuring the health and lives of workers but also plays a key role in the stability and efficiency of business processes,” Mr. Nurlan Zhakupov, Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Kazyna, said.

He also noted the positive dynamics in the reduction of injuries at the enterprises of the Group. Thus, in 2024, the number of people injured in accidents decreased by 22% compared to 2023.

Gibrat Auganov, Managing Director of Samruk-Kazyna, described the measures taken by the Fund to improve the safety level, and also outlined plans for 2025.

During the meeting, JSC NAC Kazatomprom was named among the Portfolio Companies for achieving significant results in the occupational safety area following 2024.

In addition, the Chairman of the Management Board of QazaqGaz JSC was awarded the Certificate of Appreciation for being the most involved manager in the occupational safety issues among the group of companies of the Fund.
