ABAI (Advanced Base and Artificial Intelligence) is a domestic information system created by JSC NC KazMunayGas. It is designed to make the processes of oil exploration and production more accurate, faster and safer.

The system is based on artificial intelligence and Big Data technologies, combines software, hardware and firmware, and works as the digital brain of the deposit.

With ABAI, engineers are able to analyze data from sensors, SCADA systems, and other equipment in real time. This allows making decisions based on accurate forecasts and recommendations of the system.

ABAI consists of 7 modules, each of which is responsible for a separate section of the production process, from well operation to repair planning and equipment selection.

One of the key modules is “Flood Control”.

Flooding is a technology in which water is injected into a reservoir to increase oil production. This is a process that requires precise calculations and constant monitoring. Previously, it took up to 40 hours to prepare a single flooding event.

With the introduction of the Flooding Management module, the situation has changed dramatically:

Now there are only 2 hours to prepare, thanks to automated analysis and recommendations from artificial intelligence.

The financial effect is already saving KZT450 million.

The projected benefit by 2030 is KZT9.3 billion.
