Today, a solemn ceremony of launching the bitumen plant of JV Caspi Bitum LLP took place after the completion of a large-scale modernization.

As a result of modernization, the annual capacity of the oil refining plant has been increased from 1 to 1.5 million tons, and bitumen production from 500 to 750 thousand tons.

One of the key and most technically challenging operations of the project was the installation of a 140-ton new vacuum column with a height of almost 40 meters.

The renovated plant is able to provide consistently the market with domestic high-quality bitumen, meet domestic demand and minimize dependence on imports.

The Aktau Bitumen Plant modernization project was implemented on the instruction of the President of the country. CITIC Construction was the general contractor.
