Nurlan Zhakupov, the Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Kazyna, held a meeting with Mr. Martin Vaujour is the President of Alstom's Africa, Middle East, and Central Asia (AMECA) region.  

The French company is an observer at the Council of Foreign Investors.

“I would like to note the successful development of the partnership between Alstom and Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, which allowed Kazakhstan to strengthen its leading position in the field of transport engineering in the Central Asian region”, - Zhakupov said.

Alstom is a long-time partner of the Fund and, thanks to the Samruk-Kazyna procurement system, namely the possibility of concluding offset contracts, it successfully conducts production at the Electorvoz Kurastyru Zauyty plant.

The plant produces freight mainline electric locomotives KZ8A, AZ8A and passenger electric locomotives KZ4AT. The share of localization on EKZ increased from about 10% at the start of the project to 35%.

Alstom is also building a head service center in Astana for the countries of Central Asia and the Caucasus.
