Nurlan Zhakupov, Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, held talks with Mr. Mohamed Jameel Al-Ramahi, Chief Executive Officer of Masdar.

Masdar is one of the world leaders in the field of renewable energy and a strategic investor in the construction of a 1 GW wind farm with an energy storage system in Zhambyl region.

The parties discussed the progress of the project. Construction and installation works are scheduled to begin in 2026. Phased commissioning will begin in 2028, reaching full capacity in 2029.

This is one of the largest wind energy projects in the region. It will become a part of Kazakhstan’s strategy on development of green energy and reduction in carbon emissions.
