A Number of Documents Signed by the Samruk-Kazyna Group during the Visit of the Head of State to the United States

One of the key documents was the signing of a Proposal of acceptance between Air Astana and Boeing on the supply of up to 18 modern Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. Two aircraft will arrive in the fleet next year, delivery of another one is expected in 2027, and the rest starting in 2032. This will allow updating the fleet of the national carrier and launching direct transatlantic flights Astana – New York and Almaty - New York.

The national mining company Tau-Ken Samruk and the American investment company Cove Capital have signed an agreement on the joint development of the Severny Katpar and Verkhneye Kairakty tungsten deposits. The volume of investments is about USD1.1 billion.

Samruk-Kazyna JSC and the Ashmore investment company, through its subsidiary Ashmore Healthcare International, have agreed on plans to create the first Western branded multidisciplinary clinic in Kazakhstan, which will become the medical hub of Central Asia. The total investment is about USD150 million. The hospital in Kazakhstan will work together with one of Ashmore’s global clinical partners, which will use advanced medical technologies and the latest scientific achievements in healthcare of the region.

A mandate agreement was also signed between Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC and Citibank (financing coordinator) to raise about USD1.6 billion for a period of 10 years to upgrade the KTZ locomotive fleet. The strategic deal is supported by the Export-Import Bank of the United States (US EXIM), which acts as a guarantor. Deliveries of Wabtec locomotives are planned until 2038.

In addition, a cooperation agreement was signed between Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and Wabtec on training personnel in the railway industry.

The signing of the documents was another step in strengthening the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and the United States of America.
