In Japan, the Head of the Samruk-Kazyna Fund, Nurlan Zhakupov, met with Dr. Eisaku Ito, President and Chairman of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI).

The parties discussed the development of long-term cooperation with MHI in the modernization of Kazakhstan’s energy infrastructure, including work on the Ekibastuz Energy cluster (GRES-1 and GRES-2) and the introduction of advanced technologies at key power units.

Following the meeting, Samruk-Energy JSC and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries signed a cooperation agreement on the introduction of “clean” air quality control technologies.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is one of the largest Japanese corporations in the field of engineering, mechanical engineering and industrial technology with assets of about $46.8 billion. It has more than 300 subsidiaries and branches worldwide.
