A major renovation and re-exhibition project has been completed at the Abilkhan Kasteev National Museum, one of Kazakhstan’s most significant cultural institutions with a 90-year history.

The renewal was made possible with the support of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, which allocated KZT 993.7 million for the project.

The museum was visited by Samruk-Kazyna CEO Nurlan Zhakupov. The renovation works, launched in May 2025, included a complete replacement of the 5,500-square-meter roof, refurbishment of all exhibition halls, installation of new parquet flooring, restoration of doors, and wall finishing. The museum’s engineering and utility systems were also fully modernized.

In his welcoming remarks, Zhakupov emphasized that the museum’s renewal represents a meaningful contribution to preserving Kazakhstan’s national cultural heritage and strengthening the country’s spiritual and cultural potential.

“For Samruk-Kazyna, this project goes beyond the renovation of a building. It is an investment in preserving our history, promoting national culture, and shaping the values of future generations,” Zhakupov said.

The official program concluded with a presentation of the museum, followed by a guided tour of the newly updated second-floor exhibition.
