An environmental campaign to plant pine saplings has been held in the Irtysh Ormany State Nature Reserve in Pavlodar Region, targeting areas affected by wildfires in previous years. The campaign brought together activists from the regional Jas Samruk organisation and employees of portfolio companies of Samruk-Kazyna JSC.

The initiative is being implemented with the support of the Samruk-Kazyna Trust corporate foundation on behalf of the Samruk-Kazyna Group of Companies. In Pavlodar Region, the project aims to restore 450 hectares of forest by planting 2 million saplings. Following planting, the saplings will be cared for and monitored to ensure their successful establishment.
The project also includes equipping forest fire stations with modular hangars. This will strengthen forest protection infrastructure and enhance preparedness for wildfire prevention and response.

Forest restoration efforts are also underway in Abai Region, within the Semey Ormany Forest Reserve. Here, 3 million pine saplings are being planted across 762 hectares.
A total of 5 million saplings have been planted across the two regions, with 2.5 million planted in spring and another 2.5 million in autumn this year. The projects aim to restore forest areas damaged by wildfires and preserve natural resources.
