Nurlan Zhakupov, Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, held a working meeting with the heads of the Fund’s portfolio companies. The meeting focused on keeping major investment projects on schedule and ensuring that facilities are commissioned on time.

Particular attention was paid to implementing the priorities outlined by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in his Address to the Nation on 28 October 2026. The President called for large-scale infrastructure modernisation, the development of new power generation capacity, and a sustained energy surplus by 2029. In this regard, Nurlan Zhakupov stressed the importance of strictly adhering to approved construction schedules and holding executives personally accountable for delivering tangible results.

The Head of the Fund instructed the portfolio companies to maintain strict oversight at every stage of construction, promptly resolve any issues that arise, and take all necessary measures to ensure that projects are completed within the established deadlines.

The meeting also reviewed progress on the construction of new power generation facilities in Turkistan, Kyzylorda, Almaty and Ekibastuz, as well as gas processing plants. It was emphasised that commissioning deadlines must not be postponed.

“Delays in the implementation of strategic investment projects are unacceptable. Each chief executive is personally responsible for fulfilling the commitments made and ensuring that facilities are commissioned on time. A perfunctory approach and a lack of proper oversight will lead to appropriate management decisions,” Nurlan Zhakupov stressed.

The Fund’s Board of Directors is currently overseeing 69 major investment projects with a total value of KZT 43.8 trillion.
