A few days left before the celebration of the sacred date in the history of the people of Kazakhstan and the former Soviet Union - the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory. According to the decision of the CIS states 2015 year was declared the Year of veterans of the Great Patriotic War. The large number of events are taking place in every corner of our sovereign, independent republic in honor of our heroes, the defenders of the Fatherland who give us a peaceful future. On the eve of the celebration Sovereign Wealth Fund «Samruk-Kazyna» sums up the republican project “Zhenis» that was launched in January this year at the initiative of the NGO «Organization of Veterans of the Republic of Kazakhstan» with the active support of the Fund. In order to implement the general plan of events dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory «Samruk-Kazyna» has allocated about 600 million tenge. According to the managing director of «Samruk -Қazyna» Darkhan Kaletayev, «we are doing it to pay tribute to the veterans and to show them care which they deserve. Every day, the number of war veterans are thinning out, thus we have to support them not once in a year but day ro day.» “Zhenis” is large-scale campaign, including the creation of a single internet platform which contains information about the history of the war, the contribution of our countrymen to the victory. On the basis of this internet platform the charity event to raise funds for the needs of veterans has been launched. Today any visitor of the website www.zhenys.kz can make personal contribution by sending a free SMS to short numbers and by transferring funds directly to the account of the project. In addition, the distribution of mobile devices with a panic button to all veterans residing in the country has been recently finished. Within three months 4115 devices were distributed, 500 calls were attended. Thanks to these mobile devices 93 lives were saved.
