Since 1997, the products and services of SAP have been used by 15 largest national companies in Kazakhstan such as «NC «Kazakhstan Temir Zholy» JSC, «NAC «Kazatomprom» JSC, «Kazakhtelecom» JSC, Exploration and Production «KazMunayGas» JSC, «KazTransOil» JSC, «Intergas-Central Asia» JSC, «Locomotive» JSC and others. Since 2012, the prospects for further cooperation have been the subject of discussions and negotiations under a direct agreement with SAP.
As a part of the transformation program, the possibility of optimization in terms of use of SAP technologies has been identified taking into account the interest of the Fund’s group of companies, and the reduction in the cost of ownership.
The direct agreement with SAP in December 2015 was in accordance with and within the ambit of the legislation of Kazakhstan and in full compliance with the Rules of procurement of goods, works and services of «Samruk-Kazyna» JSC (Subparagraph 2 of Paragraph 140). The agreement provides the unprecedented conditions for the software use within the Fund group of companies and will provide benefits of 200 billion tenge over the next five years.
It is important to note that the market value and the attractiveness of the national companies to international investors directly depend on the existence of accounting systems, monitoring and international reporting. Experience shows that international investors evaluate such companies higher by 15-20%.
Another feature of the agreement with SAP is creation of the expertise centers in Kazakhstan in 2017 which will be formed entirely by the Kazakh specialists. The main objective of the expertise center is to provide technical support services to information systems established on the SAP platform. This will allow us to develop high-quality personnel locally in the field of IT and help to promote the development of Kazakhstan's IT market.
«Samruk-Kazyna» JSC remains strongly committed to the policy of cooperation and transparency and at the same time, it continues to conduct discussion with subject matter experts on the involvement of Kazakh IT companies in the implementation of projects under the Transformation program.
