Samruk-Kazyna JSC launches Zhas Orken internship program

On May 11, 2017, Samruk-Kazyna” JSC conducted an information session for the media on the new approaches to HR management policy of the Fund in Astana. The speakers who addressed the information session were: Ulan Tazhibaev, Managing Director for Human Resources and Communications - Member of the Management Board of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, Gulmira Raisova, Director of Corporate University Samruk-Kazyna.

In April 2017, Samruk-Kazyna JSC initiated a competition among university graduates for participation in the two-year Zhas Orken Internship program to attract, select, train, and develop talented youth.

The main principles of the competition are equal opportunities for all participants, openness and transparency. All applications can be submitted before July 1, 2017 on the official website of the program www.skcu.kz/zhasorken.

According to the results of the four-stage competition, 20 interns will undertake a course at Samruk-Kazyna Corporate University and Deloitte Education Center in Moscow, after which they will intern at the national companies of Kazakhstan - NC KazMunayGas JSC, NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC, NAC Kazatomprom JSC, Tau-Ken Samruk JSC, Kazakhtelecom JSC, Real Estate Fund Samruk-Kazyna, NC Kazakhstan Engineering JSC, United Chemical Company LLP, Air Astana JSC, Kazpost JSC, Samruk-Energy JSC, Qazaq Air JSC.

The duration of the training program is 5 weeks, internship - 20 months, 5 months at four different enterprises of Samruk-Kazyna group of companies. Expenses related to travel and accommodation will be covered by the program together with a monthly scholarship. To date, Zhas Orken project team has visited the leading universities in Kazakhstan to inform students.

Speakers also talked about new approaches in personnel management of Samruk-Kazyna JSC. The Fund has introduced and successfully applied fair and transparent recruitment, implemented meritocracy principle, reformed the salary system, in which the employee's remuneration depends on the individual's contribution.
