The first companies, to be offered at the IPO will be Air Astana and Kazatomprom.

Sovereign Wealth Fund Samruk-Kazyna is considering the possibility of placing IPO companies on the site of Astana International Financial Center (AIFC), Nurlan Rakhmetov, Samruk-Kazyna Managing Director for Government Relations said in an interview with LS magazine.

According to him, the Fund is now working in two directions. The first is the preparation of companies for an IPO, and this process is the same for all sites. The second is the negotiations with the AIFC on the possibility of holding trades.

"We are currently working with AIFC and see their intentions to be open soon. If our plans for IPO and their opening dates coincide, then, of course, we are considering a potential listing at this site. But when this happens, it is not yet known. Preparing for an IPO is quite a delicate process, now we are actively working with investment banks and consultants. I believe the best possible solution on the timing and site of placement will be made later, now it is all in the process," he explained.

Mr Rakhmetov also added that Air Astana and Kazatomprom first to be floated, respectively, these companies are actively engaged in this work.

It should be noted, in February, Kairat Kelimbetov, Managing Director of AIFC, said that by the end of 2017, one of Samruk-Kazyna companies will be listed on Astana International Financial Center exchange. However, which one, he could not name.
