Kazakh President urges not to force the privatisation of the largest companies without maximum benefit to the state

President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev urged the authorities not to resort to forced acceleration of the process of selling stakes in the major Kazakh companies without obtaining maximum benefit for the state during the meeting on socio-economic development of the regions and the implementation of state programmes in Burabai village, Akmola region.

At the same time, the President noted the effectiveness of the privatisation plan implementation in attracting investors.

The Kazakh government has approved a comprehensive privatisation programme for 2016-2020 and a list of objects to be transferred to a competitive environment.
The list of state-owned assets to be privatized includes JSC National Scientific Medical Center, the national company Kazakhstan Garysh Sapary, National Company KazGeology, International Airport of Astana and others.

Under the program, the Kazakh government will hold IPOs for National Railway Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, National Oil and Gas Company KazMunaiGas, National Atomic Company Kazatomprom, JSC Samruk-Energy, National Mining Company Tau-Ken Samruk, Kazzinc LLP, JSC Kazpost, national airline Air Astana and others.

The list also includes subsidiaries of Sovereign Wealth Fund Samruk-Kazyna, National Management Holding Baiterek, central and local executive bodies.
