Samruk-Kazyna is concluding preparation of 14 companies to privatization in September 2014

"Samruk-Kazyna" group of companies is finishing the pre-sale preparation of 14 companies, which are scheduled to be privatized in September 2014, announced the public relations department of the "Samruk-Kazyna" JSC. 

"It is planned to put 14 companies for bidding in September 2014, the valuation procedures are now being finalized for them", – the press-service quoted deputy management board of “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC chairperson Elena Bakhmutova.

She also mentioned, that for sale will be put nine companies within NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" JSC, two companies of "NC "Kazakhstan Engineering" JSC, one subsidiary of the "NC "KazMunaiGas" JSC and two companies of the “Samruk-Kazyna” Fund. The assets of NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" JSC will be sold by means of e-bidding, it is planned to include condition of preserving the core activity of the companies and jobs. The rest of the assets will be sold by means of electronic auction without any conditions set.

Ms. Bakhmutova has emphasized that the Fund has taken necessary measures to ensure maximum transparency of the selling process. Information on the assets is updated timely on the web-site of the Committee for state property of the ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan, the Fund is actively engaged in the awareness raising work with potential investors, there is a designated call-center for the program (+ 7 (7172) 55 22 66).

Furthermore, in order to ensure transparency of the privatization process "Samruk-Kazyna" JSC has formed a commission for sale of the assets and facilities of the Fund, which includes Parliament members and representatives of the National chamber of entrepreneurs.

The Government of Kazakhstan together with “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC has developed a comprehensive privatization plan for 2014-2016 within the framework of executing the assignment of the Head of the state. Privatization of 106 assets and facilities of the Fund is planned, 64 of which will be sold to private sector by the end of 2014. Implementation of the program is aimed at decreasing the participation of state in the economy and to strengthen it by means of increasing the share of private sector.
