The agenda of the XIII International Conference on Human Resource Management held today in Astana was built around the Future Organizations.

Akhmetzhan Yessimov, Chairman of the Board of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, presented in his welcoming speech main principles of new HR policy of Samruk-Kazyna.

"First, we reduced the number of management stuff and approved a compact but effective management structure. This will allow us to make prompt decisions, without long negotiation procedures. Second, we will implement unified procedures for transparent selection of candidates and personnel recruitment in all our portfolio companies", said Akhmetzhan Yessimov.

Head of Samruk-Kazyna JSC informed participants of the conference about the introduction of the succession planning principles, which will allow creating a talent pool from the employees of portfolio companies. He also touched upon the issue of hiring foreign specialists: Samruk-Kazyna will not completely refuse from their services; however, preference will be given to local specialists.

In addition, Akhmetzhan Yessimov said about the special attention being paid to the procurement procedures. Currently, the possibility of introducing polygraph test for candidates applying for open positions in procurement units is being considered.

Akhmetzhan Yesimov commissioned Samruk-Kazyna Corporate University to develop and implement an obligatory leadership program for the first and second line managers, introduce trainings aimed at development of digital skills of employees of the portfolio companies and digitize routine HR operations through the Shared Service Center.

Heads of national, quasi-state and other companies spoke at the conference: Marat Dauyeshov, Head of the Public Service and HR Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Karin, Chairman of the Board of Kazakhstan RTRK JSC, Aiman Mussakhajayeva, Rector of Kazakh National University of Arts, and People’s Artist of Kazakhstan.

The event will be attended by well-known foreign speakers, such as Robert Quinn (USA) - an internationally renowned scientist and researcher (author of the methodology for diagnosing corporate culture widely used in international companies); Andy Barton (UK) - consultant and personal development coach of the Premier League athletes (FIFA); and Ksenia Pletner (Russia) – training and development lead, Microsoft.

During the conference an expanded meeting of the HR-association will be held.
