More than 390,000 Kazakhstan people received charitable assistance in 2019

The group of companies of Samruk-Kazyna Fund implemented 39 socially significant charity projects in Kazakhstan in 2019. In total these projects covered more than 390,000 people. The number of people who received charity assistance increased by 40,000 as compared to 2018.

4 projects were implemented in 2019 in the healthcare sector. 258 children with serious illnesses received treatment in foreign clinics under the “Give Children Life” campaign. 1560 children diagnosed with cerebral palsy underwent free rehabilitation at the “Kasietti Zhol” rehabilitation centers. All children improved their health as a result of treatment. In addition, more than 67 000 people were screened on medical trains.

13 projects were implemented in education and career guidance. Among them: opening of a resource cabinet and center in Nur-Sultan city for the development of inclusion. This helps “special need children” to receive equal opportunities in education, to be included in public life, to socialize. Also, 2 additional family courtyard clubs were opened, 3 buses for schools in Zhanaozen and so on were acquired.

600 teenagers became participants of the excursion project “Tugan Elge Sayakhat” and visited the most interesting tourist sites of the country. At the same time, 500 participants were children of employees of the group of companies of Samruk-Kazyna JSC from large, single-parent families living in remote areas of the country. Another 100 participants were children of ethnic Kazakhs living abroad and winners of the creative contest.

7 projects were implemented to support the most vulnerable social groups. 1,470 veterans of the Great Patriotic War and home front workers received social assistance, the Alga club for disabled people in Zhanaozen was equipped with sports simulators.

In 2019 the implementation of the “Areket” social entrepreneurship project was continued. In 2019, 290 non-profit organizations (NPOs) of Kazakhstan filed applications for it. After passing several stages of selection, more than 100 people from 51 NPOs were trained in social entrepreneurship, of which 25 NPOs became winners. They were awarded grants in the amount of up to KZT3 million.

“Samruk-Kazyna Trust Fund implements projects in various fields, including health care, education, social entrepreneurship, mass sports and others. In 2020, it is planned to continue the implementation of “historical” projects - “Medical Train”, “Young Talents”, “Zhenis”, as well as implement a number of new projects,”- Diyas Azbergenov, General Director of Samruk-Kazyna Trust Fund, said.

Samruk-Kazyna JSC is the largest donor of charitable programs in Kazakhstan. Over the past 5 years, more than KZT60 billion has been allocated for charity and more than 1 million people have been covered.

Samruk-Kazyna Trust Fund also implements charitable projects in conjunction with non-governmental organizations, including Dara PF, Voluntary Society Charity PF, Zamandas 21 PF, Kasietti Zhol Foundation and others.
