Samruk-Kazyna JSC signed an agreement with the French sovereign fund and the investment bank Bpifrance to create a co-investment platform for a total of EUR 100 million.

As part of the agreement, the parties intend to jointly invest in French and Kazakh companies, to help attract French companies to implement projects in Kazakhstan and expand the presence of Kazakh business in France.

As a reminder, Bpifrance is a French sovereign wealth fund and investment bank, established in 2013, of which the French government is a shareholder.

Within the framework of the agreement, the partners aim to make minority investments in small, medium and medium-sized companies in the amount of EUR 10 million to EUR 40 million in various sectors of the economy - manufacturing, mechanical engineering, renewable energy and green technologies, agriculture, logistics, education, healthcare.

“Partnership with Bpifrance will allow us to attract the world's best practices. We are interested in long-term relationships through joint investments with a long investment horizon in various projects in Kazakhstan and international markets”,- said Yerzhan Tutkushev, Managing Director for Logistics and International Cooperation - Member of the Board of Samruk-Kazyna.

In turn, the CEO of Bpifrance positively noted the inclusion of the Fund in the number of strategic partners.

“We welcome the launch of a new co-investment platform with Samruk-Kazyna, which will allow us to jointly support French companies seeking to take advantage of the many opportunities offered by Kazakhstan and Central Asia. The region is rich in natural resources, including agricultural resources, and is strategically located at the crossroads of Asia. , Russia and Europe.
