The Heads of "Samruk-Kazyna" JSC and "LUKOIL" to Have Discussed Cooperation in the Oil and Gas Industry

Almassadam Satkaliyev, the CEO of "Samruk-Kazyna" JSC, met with Vagit Alekperov, the President of PJSC "LUKOIL". During the meeting, they discussed the issues of developing cooperation.

The Head of the Fund noted that, under the instruction of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, given in November 2020 following the results of the Foreign Investors’ Council, the Fund together with the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is actively working on improving the investment attractiveness of the oil and gas industry, including development of offshore projects on the Caspian shelf.

PJSC "LUKOIL", together with JSC "NC "KazMunayGas", is conducting geological studies and prospecting and exploration work at the Zhenis offshore field and the issue of supplying oil from offshore fields to the domestic market of Kazakhstan is under consideration.

In addition, the feasibility study for the Khvalynskoye and Tsentralnoye projects is elaborated, which are implemented under the intergovernmental agreements, continues.

Almassadam Satkaliev noted the high level of interaction between the companies and proposed to intensify participation in implementation of promising oil and gas chemical projects. 

At the moment, jointly with "LUKOIL" the large oil and gas fields Tengiz and Karachaganak are developed, and oil is transported through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium. In the Almaty region, in 2019, "LUKOIL" built a plant for production of lubricants with the capacity of 100 thousand tons per year.
