September 23, 2021, as part of the official visit, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting on the socio-economic development of the Mangystau region, addressed by the Samruk-Kazyna CEO Almassadam Satkaliyev.

A report submitted to the Head of Samruk-Kazyna noted the importance of the Mangystau region for Samruk-Kazyna Group with just over 40 companies across the region. The total cumulative investment is around KZT 790 billion.

The Fund is currently intensively developing major investment projects:

- Construction of desalination plant on Karazhanbas.  

- Construction of the gas plant in Zhanaozen.  

- Reconstruction of gas pipelines Beineu-Zhanaozen. 

- Ferry complex in Kuryk Port is at the final stage of construction. 

In 2021-2024 Samruk-Kazyna Group assumes the realization of new investment projects, amounting to more than KZT674 billion.

In recent years, the Fund provided charitable assistance to the Mangystau region by supporting health education and sports development with 16 projects valued at over KZT1 billion. This year the construction of Zhanaozen Health Centre with the total value of KZT10 billion will be finished. 

Utmost attention was paid to social stability, building sports courts and playgrounds, purchasing school buses and ambulances emergency vehicles, and providing assistance to the veterans of the oil and gas industry in the region.
