Samruk-Kazyna met with the management of EDPR. It’s the third-largest wind energy producer and world leader in renewable energy. EDPR intends to invest in the realization of breakthrough and high-tech projects in the field of RES.

Samruk-Kazyna CEO Almassadam Satkaliyev noted that the Fund gives specific consideration to the decarbonization of subsidiary companies and promoting renewable energy initiatives in Kazakhstan. 

As a result of the meeting, Yernar Zhanadil, Managing Director for Investment, Privatization and International Cooperation and Spyridon Martinis Spettel, Chief Executive Officer of Ocean Winds Chief Operating, Officer of EDP Renováveis signed a Memorandum on Cooperation for implementation of solar and wind power projects.

Kazakhstan plans to increase the share of RES  generation to 10% by 2030 under the programming document.
