The extended meeting on labor protection, environment, and safety was held in Samruk-Kazyna Fund. The HSE (health, safety, and environment) special division was first established in the Fund structure at the initiative of the Chief Executive.

Almassadam Satkaliyev highlighted that the safety culture should become a daily task for every Samruk-Kazyna Group of Companies employee.

Given the strategic importance of HSE issues, 2022 has been announced as the "Health and Safety Year" in the companies of the Samruk-Kazyna Fund and in the Fund itself.

The extended meeting reviewed the current situation on labor protection, environment, and safety and the work results on reducing injuries for 11 months of this year.

The Heads of several Fund portfolio companies spoke about the measures taken to improve the safety culture at work and the introduction of advanced HSE practices.

The CEO of the Fund noted that serious accidents indicate the weak work of Heads of portfolio companies and require a revision of the business model to achieve zero injuries.

"In most cases, ordinary workers do not believe in achieving our goal of "zero injuries." However, the experience of international companies shows that this is quite an achievable goal. The Heads of the companies should become a role model for each employee, demonstrating commitment and involvement in safety issues to support the proper level of HSE, interacting with the staff and showing care and concern for the health and safety of each employee" - Almassadam Satkaliyev said.

It is proposed in the Samruk-Kazyna Group of Companies to work out the issue of conducting a comprehensive audit and developing HSE system proposals, and creating a single HSE standard for the Fund and all portfolio companies, according to the best international practices. The audit results should include:
A comprehensive assessment of risks and established barriers.
Audit of competence and technological safety.
The safety of contractors' activities.
