Today, the Fund has held a meeting on implementation of the Comprehensive Plan “Programs for Increasing Incomes of the Population until 2025”, with participation of Yeraly Tugzhanov, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, members of the Government, as well as Heads of the Fund and its portfolio companies, experts and public figures.

At the meeting, Almassadam Satkaliyev, the CEO of the Fund, spoke about the measures taken by the Fund to increase the salaries of production workers.

The Fund's Group employs 258 thousand people, 92.4% of whom are production workers. As of April 1, 2022, the salaries of production personnel in various portfolio companies of the Fund have been increased from 5% to 48% with an emphasis on low-paid positions. Another 4 companies are planning to increase the salaries of production workers by the end of 2022. These are Tau-Ken Samruk, KazAtomProm, Kazakhtelecom and Samruk Kazyna Ondeu.

The Fund is also interested in fair remuneration for employees of service providers. Thus, in the new procurement procedure, the Fund has provided a norm that allows the customer to set requirements for the minimum wage threshold of employees of contractor companies.

In addition to increasing the incomes of ordinary workers at manufacturing enterprises, the Fund is working to create new jobs in the regions. Currently, the Fund is implementing 13 priority projects of social significance, which will create 15,000 jobs. The projects are aimed at providing water to the western regions, gasification of the Almaty energy hub and development of railway transport. In addition to the direct effect in the form of job creation, the projects have indirect long–term effects - the total result of improving working conditions and environmental situation, increasing living standards, developing social infrastructure, stimulating business development.

For the well-being of production personnel and their families, it is important that every employee at the enterprises can work in safe conditions and return home unharmed at the end of working hours. In 2021, the number of workplace injuries in the Group of Companies decreased by 36%, but the Fund strives for high targets in the HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) and therefore 2022 has been declared the Year of Occupational Safety and Health.  The companies of the holding constantly provide training and development of employees.
