The Public Council of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, chaired by Bolat Zhamishev, reviewed the results of the work of the Center for Social Interaction and Communication at the Fund over the past year. 

About CSIC 

CSIC is a platform for the regulation of social and labor relations and the development of social partnership in the Samruk-Kazyna group of companies. Sociologists of the Center annually conduct research for more than 300 companies from different sectors of the economy on the basis of the most extensive questionnaire network in Kazakhstan. The tasks of the Center, inter alia, include volunteering, social adaptation of employees after the end of labor relations, communication within the Fund group of companies. 

Current projects 

At the meeting of the Public Council, the General Director of the CSIC, Yeldos Umirzakov, spoke about his social projects, in particular about the work of the Social Stability Monitoring Center of Samruk-Kazyna. It accepts complaints and appeals from employees of the Fund group of companies. Since the beginning of the year, 476 appeals have been received through the hotline of his call center “Nysana”. Work is underway to integrate Samruk-Kazyna Portfolio Companies into this system. Another direction is the introduction of IR (industrial relations) methods in the Fund group of companies, which will improve social and living conditions at work. 

The results of the sociological study of Samruk Research Services are considered in a separate block. Its purpose is to search for “vulnerabilities” in the social and labor relations of the production teams of the Samruk-Kazyna group of companies throughout Kazakhstan. The Fund management has instructed the CSIC to conduct such studies quarterly. 

Evaluation of the Public Council 

In general, the Public Council positively assessed the results of the CSIC activities. The Center has been assigned a number of tasks to improve its work. Among them is providing specific recommendations to the Management Board of Samruk-Kazyna JSC on the support of social sustainability in the entire Fund group of companies. 

“Only when specific recommendations are in demand, it will be possible to properly assess the quality of research and, accordingly, the methodology on which the research data are based,” Bolat Zhamishev, Chairman of the Council, said. The Public Council of Samruk-Kazyna JSC was formed in December 2021. It consists of seven representatives of civil society and three representatives of the Fund.
