Samruk-Kazyna JSC and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade to Agree to Increase Cooperation within the framework of the KCBC

Samruk-Kazyna JSC hosted a meeting of the Fund’s management with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and representatives of major Chinese companies - China Petroleum Technology and Development Corporation, China Communications Services International Limited, China National Chemical Engineering Group.
Mr. Zhang Shaogang, the Deputy Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, headed the delegation from China. The parties discussed the main directions of trade and economic cooperation, including within the framework of the Kazakh-Chinese Business Council (KCBC).
As Nurlan Zhakupov, the Chairman of the Management Board of the Fund, noted at the meeting, the Fund and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade have been actively working within the framework of the KCBC for more than 10 years. The Council is a dialogue platform for the business circles of Kazakhstan and China and is designed to enhance trade, economic and investment cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, Zhakupov proposed the establishement of a new Committee to assist small and medium-sized enterprises in the structure of the KCBC. This will attract new members to the organization and increase the scope of the Council’s work.
China is one of the five largest investors in the Kazakh economy. The total amount of investments is more than $ 23 billion. The companies of the Group cooperate with companies from China in the oil and gas, energy, telecommunications and other fields.
