Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Kazyna JSC Nurlan Zhakupov met with Simbarashe Chinyemba, Chief Investment Officer of Zimbabwe’s sovereign wealth fund, Mutapa Investment Fund.

The parties discussed prospects for cooperation between the two sovereign wealth funds, including the exchange of experience in state asset management, investment, and portfolio management.

Nurlan Zhakupov presented Samruk-Kazyna’s activities, its role in Kazakhstan’s economy, and its approach to managing a portfolio of national companies. Particular attention was paid to the Fund’s experience in corporate governance, improving efficiency, and attracting private capital. 

It was noted that the Fund also has experience exchanging institutional practices with foreign sovereign wealth funds. Previously, representatives of Azerbaijan Investment Holding and Mongolia’s Chinggis Khaan Sovereign Wealth Fund visited Samruk-Kazyna to learn from its experience.

Mutapa Investment Fund is Zimbabwe’s sovereign wealth fund, managing a portfolio of state-owned companies and investments and serving as a strategic investment vehicle for the country.
