CDC Malaysia shares its experience in HR optimization

The top management of CDC Malaysia was invited by the Chairman of the Board of «Samruk-Kazyna» Umirzak Shukeyev with the purpose to share its best experience with HR-specialists of the Fund and its portfolio companies. CDC Malaysia’s main activities are focused on the employment of workers, whose positions are subject to optimization.

During his presentation, the CEO of the Malaysian company Shahryn Azmi talked about the adaptation programme for dismissed employees, covering such topics as retraining of staff, job search assistance, entrepreneurship development, creation of favorable conditions for early retirement and so on.

«In fact, a very large part of the workforce is able to change jobs and activity, but only if they are sure that they have the innate ability to perform well in any job. The only huge challenge in the process of retraining of personnel is a psychological barrier,»- said Shahryn Azmi.



One of the key cases of CDC is the optimization of Malaysia Airlines, when in the wake of the crisis in the industry about 6000 employees were laid off, and then, through the work of CDC team were employed again. The representatives of the Fund have noted that in the light of the implementation of privatization programme and optimization of «Samruk-Kazyna» group, such experience of safeguarding the interests of employees is interesting and useful.

In «Samruk-Kazyna» group of companies, the decision and the prevention of labor disputes are undertaken by the Center of Social Partnership, which intends to study in depth the experience of CDC Malaysia and other worldwide leading companies. One of the main objectives of the Center is not only to solve contentious issues in labor relations, but also to predict all the possible changes in the companiesand to help employees adapt to them.
