«Samruk-Kazyna» JSC shifts from charitable donations to social investments. It is important not only to support specific projects, but also to ensure the systematic implementation of social programs. In order to exchange experience in CSR issues, Social Projects Development Fund «Samruk-Kazyna Trust» organized the I Corporate Charity Forum. Representatives of state bodies, businesses, NGOs and experts shared their vision on what assistance is more effective.

«We are moving from charitable donations to social investments. Over the past year we have gained experience in applying innovative methods in charitable activity. It's about providing help to more people for less money. If over the past five years we covered about 400 thousand people with charity, then in 2016 we supported 200 thousand people with total of KZT 15 billion. At the same time, last year's expenditures were significantly lower compared to previous years,» said Umirzak Shukeyev, CEO of “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC.

«SK Trust» has become a single operator of charity and sponsorship projects within the Fund's group. Its work is based on the principles of efficiency, social significance, consistencyand transparency. The Social Projects Development Fund is already taking its first confident steps. One of the examples is «Meni elim» program. How did we come up with this idea? «Samruk-Kazyna» companies operate in the regions. Historically, they are social investors. We have decided to systematize their assistance. SK Trust Management met with local executive authorities and NGOs of nine regions. Now the management has a task to adopt a program for each region within the framework of «Menіl еіnіm» project,» said Darkhan Kaletayev, senator, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Samruk-Kazyna Trust.

«Corporate volunteering is an important issue. We choose socially motivated people. The Fund staff actively participates in charity events. After all, our values include not only good work, but also sharing knowledge, experience and warmth of the soul. It is not only about helping with money. For example, our highly qualified accountants, lawyers conduct professional consultations. This helps to develop the Kazakhstan society,» noted Ulan Tazhibaev, Managing Director for Human Resources and Communications, Member of the Management Board of Samruk-Kazyna JSC.
