The portfolio companies of Samruk-Kazyna JSC (“the Fund”) - Tau-Ken Samruk JSC, Samruk-Energy JSC and United Chemical Company LLP -have signed roadmaps with Nazarbayev University (“University”) for the creation of chemical, petrochemical and geological research laboratories.

Under the roadmaps, it is planned to carry out a range of works to build and equip hands-on research and production centers on the basis of the university. This initiative is being implemented by the Fund in accordance with the President's instructions.

It is expected that under the signed roadmaps the first laboratories for certification of agrochemical products in accordance with international standards will be launched in autumn of this year. In addition, catalytic research laboratory in the field of oil refining will be  set up on the basis of the University by the end of 2017. The pilot tests within the entire technological chain from enrichment to metallurgy will be carried out on the premises of these centers.

In addition, the Fund plans to expand further cooperation with the University. New roadmaps for the creation of research laboratories in the oil and gas and energy sectors are planned to be signed between the University and the profile portfolio companies of the Fund until the end of 2017.
